How do you think the GSP vs. Hardy fight will turn out?
For the upcoming fight between George St.-Pierre and Dan Hardy, how do you think it'll play out? And who will win?
This is going to be such a good fight. I've been watching the promo shows showing them training and being interviewed. GSP is such a skilled and well-conditioned fighter, but Hardy has got that self-confidence in himself that is impressive. Also thought it was very amazing to learn that Hardy trained in that monastery in China for 2 months.
2nd round submission by GSP. Hardy is not going to be able to avoid GSP's takedowns. He's not a particularly good grappler and his BJJ is light years behind GSP's. GSP has fought too much tough competition and strikers with more skills than Hardy to be vulnerable to Hardy's counterpunching.
Hardy's training at a pay-for-play "monastery" in China for 2 months years ago is irrelevant. I'm all for Chinese monasteries and traditional martial arts in general but that was included to make Hardy look like a true martial artist and not just a dude with a mohawk and a belt in TKD behind him. He's not anywhere near the skill level of GSP in any aspect of MMA.
The UFC is hyping this fight because on paper (as in the Octagon) this isn't a close fight. Hardy's has a puncher's chance but that's about all he's got.
GSP has too many ways to win, too much experience and too much on the line to let this one get away from him.
